Version 8.3 and earlier - Hardware (dongle) authorisation
If you use hardware or dongle security, then these are the required steps to get your program authorised.
The programs can use hardware dongles (either a stand-alone or network version) in order to store the authorisation for the program.
Stand-alone dongles are used to authorise a single installation on a single PC. Network dongles are used to authorise a single installation on multiple PCs, and require special software.
In either case there are two ways to authorise the software:
1. Ensure that the stand-alone dongle is plugged in to the local PC, or that a connection can be made to the licence manager running on the network dongle provider PC.
2. Run the program and select File > Security > Authorise.
3. In the displayed dialog either click the Online button to carry out authorisation via the Internet or, if no Internet connection is available, click the Save button to create a text file that can be emailed to us.
Do note that the authorisation remains on the dongle, so the dongle can be switched between computers and the authorisation will go with it.
